SHOPLIFTING

Many people assume that shoplifters have a mental disorder or that they must really need the items they are stealing in order to survive. But the truth is that's not why most people steal. Very few people have kleptomania (a compulsive urge to steal), and many people who steal have enough money to pay for the items.

Someone might shoplift for many reasons. But there's no way around the fact that shoplifting is stealing — and in most places there are heavy penalties for it, including being arrested and possibly charged with a crime.

prostitution

The world's oldest profession and one of the most dangerous.
Prostitutes are raped, battered and at risk for HIV.

The word prostitute often brings to mind disturbing images fed by network television: under-fed, under-educated and often under-aged young women standing on a street corners, pitching their wares to passing motorists and turning over all their hard-earned cash to some smooth-talking pimp in colorful suit.
I'm against prostitution, I see it as a violence against women. It may be the only way of living for some of the women in this profession but it doesn't change the fact that most of the times women are being forced, used and mistreated.

abortion

Since life begins at conception, abortion is akin to murder as it is the act of taking human life. Abortion is in direct defiance of the commonly accepted idea of the sanctity of human life.
No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different.
In the instance of rape and incest, proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant. Abortion punishes the unborn child who committed no crime; instead, it is the perpetrator who should be punished.

The is a link to heartbreaking pictures: http://www.klannedparenthood.com/Aborted_Baby_Pictures_Abortion_Photos/index.cfm

Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception!!!!!!!!!!!!
For women who demand complete control of their body, control should include preventing the risk of unwanted pregnancy through the responsible use of contraception or, if that is not possible, through abstinence.
Those who choose abortions are often minors or young women with insufficient life experience to understand fully what they are doing. Many have lifelong regrets afterwards, not mentioning intense psychological pain and stress.

response to Jackie's post on abortion

http://zack-bloginator.blogspot.com/

I so disagree with you on that issue. I must admit it does get to me when people say 'she is to young to have a babe it will ruin her life...blah blah blah...' If she is to young to have a babe, maybe it means she is to young to have sex...I'm sorry, but who are we to decide about someone else's lives??who are we to take life away???This is so so so wrong. There are couples that are not blessed with a babe why don't give a birth and put a babe for adoption. It will make them very happy...and save inocent lives.

comment on J-J's post on getting into debt

http://j-jmaggot.blogspot.com/

Getting into debt is a very big issue nowadays. People love to buy things and pay for it later-I'm one of those people myself:( It can be very addictive and it is really hard to stop it. I think once you notice you have a problem managing money you can than do something about it, get some help. People unaware of the problem are those who can end up like you said- by committing suicide...

comment on hannah's post on plastic surgery

http://hannahabbissblog.blogspot.com/

I agree completely with you, it's up to individual if he/she decides to have a plastic surgery.I don't think it is something wrong( to certain extend of course) even though I would never consider having one myself. It is not because I think there is nothing to be' fixed ' there, it is because I think we are the way God made us and we should appreciate it. The way we look makes us different from each other-unique. I hope I 'll never be in a situation where I'm going to need a plastic surgery...I'm thinking here about situations like car crash or burn...In this circumstances I totally agree with it.

Drunk driving is a serious crime and even thouhg there has been a significant success in reducing the number of people killed in drink and drug drive related collisions over the last 15 years, drink driving remains a serious, life threatening issue.
On average 3,500 people are killed or seriously injured each year. Last year over 90,000 people were convicted of drink driving.
The average person who is caught driving drunk has already gotten away with it 87 times. How scary is that???
Nearly one in seven of all deaths on Scottish roads involve drivers who are over the legal limit. The risk of being involved in an accident increases rapidly with the amount of alcohol consumed.

The legal limit for driving is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. But there is no fail-safe guide as to how much you can drink and stay under the limit. Any alcohol, even a small drink will impair driving ability and the only safe course is not to drink any alcohol prior to driving...

Gambling as a means of trying to satisfy a financial need is without a doubt, a very dangerous and unhealthy practice. Gambling should be viewed as a recreational activity and not as a means of making money, especially when considering the fact that the player can't afford to lose the money being gambled with.

Why do we do it? We gamble cus we are feeling lucky. Whether its buying a lottery ticket, participating in a bingo game or playing the slot machine, many people gamble because they are simply feeling lucky. How many times have you taken a chance on something because you had a good feeling about it? We gamble cus it's fun. It's not always about the money, but more about the adrenaline rush and the thrill and excitement of the game. The emotional highs and lows one may experience during a game may sometimes be sufficient enough to keep the player addicted to the game. Gambling can be a great way to unwind from the many stresses of life. The pleasant, elegant and relaxing atmosphere of the casino itself can be a major source of appeal in itself. ...And easy money. Of course, it can also be a great way to lose money, but the eternally optimistic

gambler prefers not to dwell on the possibility of such an outcome.
I have to admit it I love to gamble for all of those reasons but mostly cus it feels like an adventure where the outcome is unknown.:)

why people cheat????

There are several reasons why we cheat...unsatisfied, lonely, unhappy, ect……… . Relationships are built on love, and sometimes two people forget to communicate causing unhappiness. When an opportunity comes along to talk with someone about our problems we usually do so.
Cheating doesn’t always have to be a physical thing… emotional cheating is just as bad-well to me anyway…
An individual decides what their definition of cheating is.

Those who cheat as an accidental incident are guilty when it is over. It could be too much alcohol and an attraction to another individual that leads to the act...There might be as many reasons/excuses as many people there are..To me it doesn't really matter what leads to it, I think there is nothing more devastating than to find out your partner has been unfaithful to the vows you took together.
And the worses part is as you crawl through the stages of grief; denial, blaming, anger, and finally acceptance, you may find yourself asking who is to blame for this affair- You end up blaiming yourself... asking yourself " maybe I wasn't good enough?"

Selfishness of those who cheat is a cause of cheating.
lies...

When everything depends on just one tiny lie, we forget that in order to correct one lie, seven others have to be told.

Everybody lies. It may only be “white” lies, but everyone tells lies or “omits the truth” sometimes. We start lying at around age 4 to 5 when children gain an awareness of the use and power of language.Eventually children begin to use lying to get out of trouble or get something they want. White lies, those concocted to protect someone’s feelings, are not a big deal at all.The person, however, who seems to feel compelled to lie about both the small and large stuff has a problem.

why people have tattoos????

The message on the body...

Some of the people use the tattoos as spiritual devotion. Some new forming gangs make a symbol of their gang and then make its tattoos on their bodies. Nowaday the tattoos are used as an expression of one's character, to hide the skin burns and used as a fasion symbol.

Tattoos born from passion can depict names or images of loved ones, designs illustrating a hobby

, or a multitude of other items that a person may feel so strongly about that it warrants a place of honor on that person’s body.

Those who wish to commemorate a person or certain event may choose to do so with a tattoo. The pain of the passing of a loved one may be eased knowing that the person will never be
forgotten so long as there is a daily, bodily reminder of their lives. Joyous occasions can also be chosen to be commemorated in this way. Married couple will sometimes choose to have tattoos celebrating their nuptials.

drugs...

Why do we take drugs?????Man
y of us use drugs in order to escape physical and emotional discomfort. Maybe you started drinking to numb feelings of depression, smoking pot to deal with stress at home or school, relying on cocaine to boost your energy and confidence, using sleeping pills to cope with panic attacks, or taking prescription painkillers to relieve chronic back pain.
Drugs don't treat the problem- drug use will masks the symptoms. ,they might make
you feel better in short-term but in a long run drugs apart from psychological, physical, and social consequences and addiction make the problem you were trying to cope with or avoid worse than the original problem .

masturbation

From the psychological point of view masturbation is an act of self-pleasuring, self abuse, or onanism where a 'man'
" for a variety of reasons are driven in on self and find a substitute for real living in this symbolic and intensely frustrating behavior."'
In the classical article on the theology of masturbation, Father Jos. Farraher, S.J., describes it as "the stimulation of the external sexual organs to a point of climax or orgasm by oneself, by movements of the hand or other physical contacts or by sexually stimulating pictures or imaginations (psychic masturbation) or by a combination of physical and psychical stimulation."2 In a broader sense this includes mutual masturbation in which persons touch one another's genitalia.

MASTURBATION as an addiction
by Portia Nelson

1. I walk, down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in.
I'm lost... I am helpless It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
2. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place. But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
3. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I still fall in . . . It's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
4. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
5. I walk down another street...

Masturbation addiction is, simply put, the compulsive need to masturbate. The need becomes so overwhelming that the addict does not have the power to keep from masturbating. This overpowering desire is at the base of most forms of sexual addiction.Masturbation, by its very nature, is a selfish act. Since you are having sex with yourself, there is no need to please anyone else. The emotional nature tends to follow the same course. As sex becomes little more than another way to meet your own physical needs, the tendency is to ignore the emotional needs of your spouse as well. She/He becomes nothing more than an object for your sexual satisfaction..
There are many who passionately argue that it is not an addiction but a perfectly healthy act to do whenever you please...If You one of those people, You migh want to read this story:

smoking

Smoking kills around 114,000 people in the UK each year.

Of these deaths, about 42,800 are from smoking-related cancers, 30,600 from cardiovascular disease and 29,100 die slowly from emphysema and other chronic lung diseases.

Research has shown that smoking reduces life expectancy by seven to eight years.

On average, each cigarette shortens a smoker's life by around 11 minutes.

Why knowing all those facts and seeing those pictures doesn't stop me from smoking?Simple as that: life is to short so I might as well do things i enjoy doing.

'bad trip'

I can think of a one place that we could go and be bad :) Blackpool is full of tempting machines...
